Abstract:

As special historical and cultural space， ancient cities have multi-layer internal values of materiality and immateriality besides political functions， economic characteristics and agglomeration functions. During the construction and development of Dali ancient city， the urban function， urban spatial form， block layout and architectural pattern in different historical periods have distinct characteristics of the times. With the weakening of urban political and military functions， the economic service function of Dali ancient city has gradually become prominent， and the urban space culture has changed.
